Despite the controversy surrounding pop sensation Rihanna, her willingness to reach out to those in need is still a priority. The singer visited one of her biggest fans, six-year-old Jasmina Anema, who has a rare and aggressive form of leukemia at New York University Medical Center on April 2.
Rihanna initially learned about Jasmina’s illness in February after viewing a video made by the girl’s best friend. After viewing the video, which asked for a bone marrow donor for Jasmina, Rihanna teamed up with the young fan’s mother and friend to start a bone marrow registry to find a match.
Only scheduled to spend an hour at the hospital, Rihanna and Jasmina became good friends and spent more than three hours talking, playing and dancing. Rihanna also brought Jasmina a large bag of Cover Girl Cosmetics and ended up painting her biggest fan’s finger nails and even applying a little make-up.

Chris Brown had his day in court to face two felony charges of making criminal threats and assault. The 19-year-old singer pleaded not guilty in a Los Angeles courtroom Monday stemming from the alleged Feb. 8 beating of his girlfriend, pop diva Rihanna. The singer dressed in a dark suit stated “Not guilty your honor,” when asked how he would plea. His mother sat in the front row of the courtroom, her eyes red from tears.Rihanna did not appear in court, but her lawyer Donald Etra was present. “What happened today was that Chris Brown entered a not guilty plea to both of the felony counts against him,” Etra said to reporters after the hearing. “Rihanna’s position in this case remains the same, mainly she will do everything that the law requires her to do,” he said when asked what role the 21-year-old singer will play in the case.
Etra went on to say that both parties are attempting to resolve the case “expeditiously and fairly” but fended off personal questions regarding his client. “It’s not my role to discuss her personal relationship,” he said.
Lil Wayne has filed a lawsuit against QD3 Entertainment, which is owned by music pioneer Quincy Jones’ son Quincy Delight Jones III, and Digerati Holdings for releasing a documentary about the rapper without receiving his approval.
In December 2008, the company sent a copy of the film to be screened by Wayne’s manager. The rapper’s management was displeased with the project and claimed the documentary included distasteful material that needed to be removed prior to a Sundance screening. Another clip of the film was sent to Wayne’s manager in January but the star’s reps where still unhappy and requested that certain material be eliminated.
Keyshia Cole wants everyone to know that her biological mother, Frankie Lons, is not dead. Contrary to the rumors that hit the net stating that Frankie was in a tragic car accident, Cole is proud to announce that her mother is alive and well.
“The rumor has absolutely no truth to it — Frankie has not been in any accident of any kind and is doing well at home in Atlanta,” Cole said in a statement released by her label Interscope records. “We want to thank all of Frankie’s fans for their support.”
